"Let us not become weary in doing good..." Galatians 6:9
It is easy to get weary when it is 95 degrees outside and you are working in the sun. We knew that it would be a scorcher today, so we decided to get an early start working in the garden and afterwards we planned to go to the Shedd Aquarium to escape the heat. That was the plan anyways, because as we pulled up to the Shedd, the parking lot attendent told us that it was closing three hours early for a private event. It turns out that you can pay $25,000 to have the whole aquarium to yourself for a few hours. Who knew?
Not everything went as expected today, but that was okay, because God provided us with some new opportunities that were incredibly formative.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23
A 7 this morning 9 of Ridgewood's high school students and 4 of their fearless leaders (it will be 5 leaders when Chase joins us tomorrow) packed their things into their vehicles and drove for 3 and a half hours to Rogers Park on the north side of Chicago.
This past weekend 10 of Ridgewood's Middle School students and their Spark leaders came over to my house for an overnighter and Saturday morning service project.
I was incredibly blessed to get to spend time with such an awesome group of 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
